The #1 Person You Need to Scale Your Business

August 22, 2018

Today I’m here to chat with you about the number one person you need to scale your business. If you have launched an online business and you’re having a hard time keeping up with everything, the number one person you need to scale your business is a virtual assistant.

Your first virtual assistant might be a catch-all or a general VA, but they’ll serve in an important role in your company, helping you keep things organized. A VA often steps in when a person is overwhelmed, disorganized, frazzled and feeling like they just can’t get everything done during the day.

What Does a VA Do?

If you’ve never heard the term VA before, it simply stands for virtual assistant. It’s like having an executive or administrative assistant, but usually this person is working on a contract or freelance basis. They’re completely virtual so they can be based anywhere.

There are so many different tasks that a VA can help you to do. Why is a VA the number one person you need to scale your business? At a certain point, you shouldn’t be doing all of the tasks in your business that are not generating money or are not in your zone of genius.

For example, the first place that I encountered resistance to doing something in my business was in social media scheduling. It wasn’t something I loved doing. I didn’t proclaim to be an expert in it. I found it pretty frustrating to do. It was time-consuming, and it wasn’t the number one lead generator for my business.

“There’s a good chance that a VA can do the work faster than you, and possibly even better than you.”

Outsourcing social media scheduling to someone else means that I still get the benefits of social media but I’m not getting sucked down the rabbit hole of doing social media tasks that aren’t the driving force behind my company.

For you, those tasks could be something different :

  • unsubscribing from old emails that are clogging up your inbox

  • planning your travel arrangements

  • finding a gift for a loved one

  • doing online research for you

  • creating a system to keep track of incoming and outgoing projects

  • virtually managing other team members once you have those

A VA is an Investment in Your Business

When you are a business owner, you must be focused on the high dollar or high value tasks, not the $20 or $30 per hour tasks that a virtual assistant can complete.

“If you’re the solopreneur who’s still wearing 25 different hats and doing everything, hiring your first virtual assistant is important.”

There’s a good chance that a VA could do the work faster than you, and possibly even better than you.

Be open to the idea that this person is an investment and not an expense. Virtual assistants have been instrumental in helping me to grow my business and freeing up a lot of my time.

If you’re the solopreneur who’s still wearing 25 different hats and doing everything, hiring your first virtual assistant is important.

Sign up below if you’d like to learn about 70+ different tasks that you can outsource to a VA. Even if all of them don’t apply to you, it will help you think about things that you have on your plate that aren’t the right fit for you or could be handled more effectively by someone else.
